7 Year Olds

This is the first year players move to the full Little League Diamond with 60 foot basepaths. This level continues to function in a less-competitive environment where the goal is to promote an environment of fun and enjoyment first. No score or statistics of any kind are kept during the season but a fun playoff/jamboree style format is run at the end of the season to add some competition. Coaches are again expected to play all players in all positions regardless of their individual skill levels. Our objective is to expand the player's understanding of game rules, basic position recognition and to introduce base running concepts.

Who Can Play?

Boys and girls “league age” 7 years old. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child as of August 31 of the current year. Use this Age Calculator to determine your child’s league age.

What Equipment Is Required?

Glove
Helmet with chinstraps or a fitted helmet
Jock/jill (groin protection)
Cleats
White baseball pants (no shorts)
All players receive a hat, socks, and a belt to keep and a jersey that must be returned at the end of the season

Parent Expectations

Parents are expected to meet their league volunteer requirements throughout the year
Team duties that aren't part of league volunteer requirements will also be setup by your team manager/parent for every game. This includes field setup and takedown for games/practice.
Your coach will be asking for one or two parents to step up as Team Parent(s) to assist with managing the team.
Volunteer at the year-end Jamboree in June.

Schedule

2 x 1½ hour games per week and 1 practice.
Games are typically Saturdays and/or Sundays at 10:00am, 1:00pm or 4:00pm. Practices are on weeknights. These days/times are subject to change depending on final registration numbers.
All games are held at Rotary Park.
A year-end Jamboree is held in June.
Season starts early April and runs to mid June.

Can My Child Be On The Same Team As Their Friend?

We do our best to accommodate special requests for 7 year olds and under. Upon registration, please indicate your special request in the "Special Requests / Comments" field.
